Week of Measurement Continued

Last week I posted what we did for our measurement week. I shared a foot, inch, yard sorting book freebie (along with a lot of other freebies). Click {HERE} for that. Some of these ideas I'm sure you have seen since they all came from Pinterest. We had our measurement Olympics outside. I gave each group a craft pom and they had various things to do with it that required them to first estimate distance and then measure the actual distance. They would blow their pom, kick it, and toss it. I had the kids make this chart before we went out (sorry that it's sideways)

I had to make sure to demonstrate how to do each one so they did not kick or toss way too hard and end up measuring forever. They loved doing this. They used chalk to mark their starting and ending marks to measure.

In small groups we made measurement aliens using this glyph from my measurement pack.
