Word of the Day and Owl Posters

So I am totally into owls right now and am working on creating and owl themed classroom. I created posters to hang up for next year for the months, days of the week, and numbers. I can't wait to get these printed, laminated, and hung on my walls. You can purchase all of these posters at my TPT store here. Here are some samples.

I am also going to sell them as individual sets as well in case you don't need all three.

Another thing I am super excited to start next year is my vocabulary word a day. I created a mini poster for each word of the day that includes definition, part of speech, antonym, and synonym that I will post in my morning meeting area each day. We will have a new word Monday through Thursday and be tested on Friday (along with our reading series vocab words). I also created homework pages for all words, review pages, tests, and a parent letter explaining the tests and homework that will be coming home. It took a while but I finally got all 4 nine weeks complete. There are almost 300 pages included and you can pick it up here. Here are some samples of what all is included.

I don't know about your reading series vocab words but the words my series uses are way too easy, so I wanted more of a challenge. I am even going to let mine spell them on our weekly spelling tests for extra credit.

Don't forget to pick up your free set of owl supply labels and focus wall posters at my TPT store.

Owl Freebies and Multiplication

I am doing an owl theme in my classroom for next year and have been working on some posters and labels to use. I just posted some for free that you can pick up in my TPT store. I made a reading and math focus wall poster. I also have organized all of my school supplies and math manipulatives into tubs so I made some labels for those as well. I even left some blank so you can make your own. Click on the pictures to get yours.

Ok, for some reason I cannot find the picture to post of the focus wall posters so just click here to get those for free.

So, we have been working on multiplication this past week and made these cute hands from Amy Lemons Multiplication Situations packet. Just wanted to share the photos.

The kids traced their hands and glued down the palms only so the fingers would curl out like they were holding their items. Then they picked what they wanted to hold in their hands, drew however many they wanted in their hand, then completed the saying I have # ________ in my hand. How many ________s do I have in all? Super cute and easy!

HUGE Giveaway and End of the Year Freebie

I was so honored when I was invited by Jen from Hello Mrs Sykes to be a part of her HUGE giveaway. She has reached 200 followers (congrats by the way) and is having a giveaway with a TON of wonderful prizes. I am giving away my best seller Main Idea Mania. Click on my preview picture to be taken to her blog where you can enter and see all of the other (well 10 to be exact) awesome prizes you could win.

So, we are super close to the end of the year and I wanted to share this cute end of the year craftivity with you. I found this on Pinterest but created the templates for you. I made a poster of the sun and cloud that says Hanging Up Our 2nd Grade Memories. The kiddos each got a shirt template and had to write about their favorite memory from 2nd grade. We then hung them up with the poster in the hall. Check out our pictures. Click on the templates below to get yours for free. You have to click each one to download.

Sorry the light is out in our hall so I had to use my flash and it reflected on the laminated poster.

Alrighty well that's all for today. Don't forget to head over and enter the giveaway!!

Reading Center

So I have been hard at work decorating my classroom for next year. I know, a little early. I had to share a picture of my new "jungle" reading center. I made a huge tree for the corner and attached tissue paper flowers. I had a "Bananas about Reading" banner and some grass and jungle animal cut outs that I attached around the floor. I also had a leopard rug and matching chair. The sad thing is I used to have so many leopard print pillows and lamps that I could have used and sold them all in yard sales. I know now to keep every thing. You never know when you might be able to use it. So here is the picture:

I know the parts of speech bulletin board doesn't really go, but it was already there.

We also now have 15 butterflies. The kids were so excited when we got to school and they had started coming out of their chrysalises.

Update on my next TPT packet. I am working on a vocabulary word of the day for all 4 nine weeks. I know this one is going to take awhile, but I'm super excited about it. It will have a mini poster for each word, vocabulary tests for the end of each week, and homework.
