Sad Week : (

I have to admit I have been a little bummed out this past week. I had a giveaway where I was giving away 4 of my best selling items and I only had 3 people enter all week long. I decided since only 3 ladies entered they were all winners and I sent them each all 4 of my packets. Congrats girls!

I was wondering if you do follow my blog would you mind leaving me a little comment and letting me know. I have started feeling like I write these posts and post freebies and nobody is actually ever seeing them but me. I would feel so much better if I knew someone out there was able to use what I am offering.

I am not at all trying to sound like a complainer, but we all know how busy teachers are, and I LOVE to post my ideas and freebies but I am almost thinking it's about time to hang up the blogging hat with the turn out from my past giveaway. If you do follow my blog, I truly appreciate you and hope my posts have helped you as a teacher in some way.

  1. I felt the same way! I just made a post about about my new halloween pack. I was going to give it away to the first two people to comment. Only one person commented! The strange this is that I've already sold two of them on TPT????

Anyways I think after the summer teachers are just super busy. I know that I've also OVERLOADED myself with freebies that I now have to organize. So I'm really only trying to grab the ones that I can use right away.

I still read, I also have just been commenting less because I have less time. Don't give up though! we're still out there!

  2. I follow and read most of your post. I am sorry I missed the giveaway:( I know I am usually a weekend blogger and don't really have time that much during the week to get on. I am hoping once school starts settling in I will be able to blog more. Keep on blogging:)

  4. I follow you. I signed up for email alerts and I also check out your blog.

I know how you feel. Sometimes I only get the odd reader, and it's a bit discouraging when you've got a really great giveaway on the go and not much of an audience. The recent changes at Teaching Blog Addict may also be having an impact.

Whatever the reason, it'll get better once the hectic few weeks of school are done.

Keep going! I love reading your posts!

  5. Heather, your post made me feel so sad for you that I had to write up a blog - I hope you don't mind. Here it is http://sos-supply.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/teachers-in-need-of-tlc.html

Have a good night - and remember, there are lots of us out there who really appreciate what you do.

  8. I read you regularly. Missed your giveaway since I sometimes read blogs after school...but our school blocks raffle copter. I usually try to remember at home which blog to return to, but obviously missed this.

  9. I follow your blog and LOVE your stuff. With the beginning of the year, I've been missing everyone's blog posts. I'm hoping everything settles down soon because I get so many great ideas when I have a chance to actually read everyone's posts.

  10. I'm a new follower of your blog! It will get better! I promise. I'm not getting as many blog visitors now that school has started. I think we're all shell shocked now that our summer vacations are over and we're back to the daily grind. It'll pick up. At least, that's what I keep telling myself! LOL! Your're blog is beautiful and I'm happy to be here! Here's a helpful hint to attract more comments...turn off the word verification thingy. They are getting more and more difficult to read.

  11. Hey there girlie!! I am a big fan of your blog too & love it!!! I know personally that I have been swamped with work lately & I haven't been blogging as consistently as I have over the summer. Keep your chin up because you are FABULOUS!!! I'm sorry I missed your giveaway too. Usually I never miss a giveaway, but lately I've missed a slew of them. :(
Don't second guess yourself!! Your blog is wonderful!

  12. I am a new follower and I am so sad that you are sad! If you want to try another giveaway, I have a series called Giveaway Goddess Gossip where I can highlight your giveaway and send some traffic your way. I remember my very first giveaway and I was in the same boat, but don't let it get you down. Your purpose in the blog world has been pre-determined by Him, so if reaching tons of followers is not on the agenda, don't stress. I see some blogs reach zillions of followers in a few months, the same amount that I have after 2 faithful years of blogging! It is what it is and I don't get upset anymore. Blogging buddies are the best buddies I have ever made and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. Your blog is amazing and I am glad that I found you!

  13. I'm sure it will get better. I do read your blog and feel your pain. I offered a giveaway product for my 30ish birthday to the first 30 people to comment. It's 2 months later and I'm still waiting. HA!HA! I just look at it as if I'm a perpetual 20 something. Teachers are in a frenzy this time of year and hardly have time to breathe. Smile, you have so much to offer and the best is yet to come:)

  14. I follow Heather and I feel you. I get the most hits when I'm giving away free stuff and not when I post something meaningful, it is discouraging. But I also remind myself that I also started the blog for myself, as a way to record my teaching life. Sometimes my post are for others and sometimes they are just for myself. You never know if you are going to reach anyone or not, but you shouldn't give up. :)

  15. I feel you- my blog stats are plummeting lately, even when I've tried to keep posting and offering freebies. I think it's just the beginning of the year slump, when everyone's going back to school and doesn't have as much time to blog-stalk. I know that, for me, giveaways are going by the wayside because I just have less time to read blogs lately, and I'd rather spend the time reading content. (With switching grade levels, I need all the ideas I can get right now! :)

I promise that I'm a reader, though- and I really enjoy following your blog. I hope you'll keep blogging!

  16. I've been a follower :)

We've all been there. Even the big bloggers will have tons of views and little comments. It happens!

I missed your giveaway because I was camping and it also the beginning of school.

    Don't give up! You've got readers :)

  22. Everything has its ups and downs. I was a blog stalker all summer long. So many blogs to read and I would be online for hours. Now that school is in session I barely have time to visit blog land. I found your post through SOS-Supply since I follow Sue. When some of the people I follow have giveaways, freebies, or just a post they really want to share, they send messages to their followers. I get messages on Notebook and TpT. Maybe you should send out a quick message to your store followers so they will know. Surely it will bring you more traffic.
    Good Luck!

  23. Dear Heather~ I have been teaching since 1986 and just learned how to use Google Reader, find teacher blogs, and TPT. I am coming off of a really bad personal and professional year and have been super busy. Now I have found you, and have added you to my list of blogs I follow. I teach 2nd grade and I bet you've got tons of great ideas to share. Sorry I missed your giveaway. Never give up. Without hope, we have nothing.
    LOVE
    Debbie

PS~Am thinking about possibly starting the whole bloggy thingy but haven't created any TPT materials of my own. Too busy buying from others.

  25. Hi Heather!

I absolutely read every post you write! The beginning of the year is just crazy and I haven't been leaving as many comments as usual, but I want you to know that I appreciate you and all the hard work that you put into blogging!

  26. I just started second grade and have been looking for second grade blogs. I read your post and was so bummed thinking there might be one less resource for me. Don't give up on blogging yet. Give teachers a chance to recooperate from the beginning of the year.
Also, I wasn't able to sign up for the giveaway. Our district hasn't started Common Core yet. I didn't want to win something I can't use right away.
    Anyway, hang in there.
