Christmas in July Day 2

That's right, it's day 2 of our Christmas in July sale.

Can you believe the summer is almost over?!?! It makes me double sad to go back to school this year because of my little one, Tinley. She will be 2 at the end of September and last summer when I was off with her she had just started crawling. This summer is much different. She has really gotten her little personality and I am going to miss it so much. My mom does keep her for me every day so it makes it a little easier on me knowing she is in great hands.

Sorry just had to share some pictures of her cute little face. I think the first one is my all time favorite picture since it has my first baby (furbaby) in it, Tucker. Wish I could take both of them to work with me every day!

Ok on to the items on sale for day 2. I have chosen two more of my top favs from my TPT shop. The first is my Daily Calendar Routine. This packet comes complete with materials separated into each nine weeks to last you the whole year and they are based on 2nd grade CCSS.  It will give your students a little practice with some very important skills each day during your calendar routine. You can check out my earlier post to read more about it {HERE} Click on the picture below to go to the product at my shop.

The second item on sale in my shop today is my main idea packet, Main Idea Mania. It includes:

Mini posters (2 versions for you to use what you like best)
Rain cloud craftivity with templates
Monkey craftivity with templates and story written by me
Main idea grab game for 4 players
Cut and sort
Main idea and supporting detail matching pair color

This was one of the first products I created for TPT. Click on the picture below to go to it in my shop.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous Saturday. Make sure you check out the other wonderful ladies blogs to see what great deals you can find today!

Favorite Back To School TPT Products Linky {Plus a Freebie}

I am so excited to join up with Elementary School Garden for the back to to school TPT product linky. I wanted to share a few of my favorite back to school items from my shop {and keep reading to snag a freebie from my facbook page}!

So a one of my favs would have to be my morning work basket bundle. This bundle covers your morning work from August to May and all you have to do is print laminate and make a few copies at the beginning of the month. Nothing else to worry about. That's what I LOVE about it {not to mention it is aligned to 2nd grade CCSS}. There are sheets to get your students through each day each month. I used this with my class last year and I LOVED it. It made my life so much easier and I could grab some grades when I needed them. It was a win win!

Another thing I can't wait to use again that made my life easier last year are my ELA and Math CCSS assessments. After I taught a skill I would pull that short assessment to see who mastered it and mark them off on the tracking sheet that is included. That way when it was time for intervention I looked back to see what kids I needed to pull for what skill to get more help. AND it has CCSS posters and student version "I can" posters.

I couldn't do without back to school centers. Make sure you check out my new and revised Back to School Math and Literacy centers.

Math Centers
Add the Wheels-basic addition facts
School Supply Mix Up-basic subtraction facts
Skipping Apples-skip counting by 2s, 5, 10s

Comprehension Posters and Prefix/Suffix Freebie

Last year I printed off some comprehension posters to put up in my room but they were really bland and there were only like 5 or 6 strategies. I decided this summer to make a set of my own that were much brighter and kid friendly. I just uploaded the pack which contains 30 posters in all to my TPT shop.

Here are what some of them look like. If you click on the preview in my shop you can see a sample of almost every poster before you buy. AND...... if there is a poster you want and it's not included just email me (secondgradeperks@gmail.com) and I will try my best to add it in for you.

Since I'm not actually in school right now it's hard to post things that are going on in the classroom, so instead I wanted to offer this prefix/suffix sample from my Safari unit! It has prefix/suffix flashcards and a board game. Click on the picture to get yours. Hope everyone had a great 4th!
