Main Idea Here, Nouns There...throw in some money and you've got our week!

I wanted to try something new for my blog posts. Not sure how well it will work or how long it will last, but I won't know until I try right?? Some other bloggers do A Peek at my Week before the week starts, but I want to be able to show some finished pictures of what we do during our week. I want to share with you what we do each day of the week in some subjects. Now, I won't overwhelm you with everything we do and won't do every day in one post but just the stuff that I feel went well, stuff that might work for others, where I found things, freebies, you get the picture.

This past week we have been hitting it hard with main idea, nouns, and money.

We created "Bright Idea" light bulbs from Kelly Dooling Main Idea packet. There are a ton of great ideas in this pack. We did one together so they would get the idea and then they tackled it solo. My kiddos did an amazing job with this. Here is one of my favs!

We also watched the main idea video from Brainpopjr. My kids love some Brainpop!

We are studying common and proper nouns this week. We completed a common/proper noun sort that I found for free {HERE}

 We are covering money in math and did a money sort that you can get {HERE} free. This little chick did not put her name and number on her paper. Sometimes it doesn't matter how many times you say put your name and number it will go in one ear and out the other. Can I get an AMEN?!?!

We used some activities from my Monkeying Around With the Main Idea packet.

We created monkeys with the main idea and the bananas had the supporting details from a story in the packet that I wrote about a monkey. Then we hung them in our tree in the hallway.

 We went on a common/proper noun hunt that I found {HERE}. I forgot to snap come pics of this one though. Oops!

In math we played the money version of I have who has.

From the same main idea packet from above we created main idea rain clouds after we read Clifford and the Big Storm.

In math we completed a money read the room game that you can download {HERE}

 For common and proper nouns we watched this video from Pinterest.

 Then we used paint samples to write common and proper nouns.

So, I hope you enjoyed reading about part of our week. Let me know what you think!

Don't forget to check out my math bundle at Educents. There are only 3 days left. You won't be disappointed.

I also have had it put on my heart lately to start ending my posts with a Bible verse just to encourage you!

Psalm 34:8

Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in him!
